Police are investigating after a fatal crash near Cessnock early this morning. About 12.30am (Friday 10 October 2014), emergency services were called to Lake Road at Elrington, near Cessnock, after reports that a Holden utility had crashed. On arrival officers from Central Hunter Local Area Command attended the location and found a utility had crashed into trees. The driver and sole occupant, a 21-year-old man, died at the scene. A crime scene was established and was examined by Hunter Valley Crash Investigators. Investigators will prepare a report for the information of Coroner.
