Police are investigating after a fatal crash near Cessnock early this morning. About 12.30am (Friday 10 October 2014), emergency services were called to Lake Road at Elrington, near Cessnock, after reports that a Holden utility had crashed. On arrival officers from Central Hunter Local Area Command attended the location and found a utility had crashed into trees. The driver and sole occupant, a 21-year-old man, died at the scene. A crime scene was established and was examined by Hunter Valley Crash Investigators. Investigators will prepare a report for the information of Coroner. Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page: https://nsw.crimestoppers.au/ Information you provide will be treated in the strictest of confidence.
