Police are investigating an attempted aggravated robbery that occurred at Smithfield in the early hours of this morning. At about 2.50am, police were called to the McDonald’s Restaurant on Main North Road after a man entered the business armed with a machete, and demanded money. Another person held the door open, while a third suspect waited outside. Staff at the restaurant moved away from the counter and called police. The man is described as being aged in his late teens, with a slim build and was wearing a black hooded jumper with a white logo on the front, and black pants. One of the other suspects was wearing a purple hooded jumper, black tracksuit pants and black gloves, and the third suspect was also wearing a black hooded jumper. All three were wearing masks covering their faces. Anyone with information that can assist police is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or online at sa.crimestoppers.au
