Police are investigating following the armed robbery of a bottle shop in Bossley Park. About 5.15pm yesterday (Sunday 18 May 2014), a man entered the shop, which is located at the intersection of Mimosa Road and Quarry Road. The man asked the 25-year-old female cashier for a packet of cigarettes, and when she turned her back, he produced a knife and stepped behind the counter. He demanded the cashier open the register. She complied, and he took out an amount of cash before leaving the shop. The man was last seen running west on Quarry Road. Police from Fairfield Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which has been examined by specialist forensic officers. No-one was injured in the incident. Detectives are continuing their investigations, and would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries. He is described only as being of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance and aged in his 20s. At the time, the man was wearing a dark grey, checked hooded jacket and dark grey shorts.
