Police are investigating the armed robbery of a supermarket in Glebe last night. About 9.30pm (Wednesday 4 December 2014), a 20-year-old man was working behind the counter at a supermarket on Glebe Point Road when he was confronted by two males who ran into the store. Police have been told both men were armed with knives and threatened the man, demanding cash. The pair ran from the scene into Toxteth Road a short time later, taking cash. The staff member was uninjured during the incident. Officers attached the Leichhardt Local Area Command were called and established a crime scene. As they continue their investigations, police would like to speak to two men who may be able to assist them with their inquiries. Both men are described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180-185cm tall and with fair skin. The men were wearing black hooded jumpers, dark pants, and had their faces concealed with scarves. Police believe there may be witnesses to the incident who have not yet spoken to police. Anyone with information is urged to contact Glebe police via Crime Stoppers.
