Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding an aggravated break-in in Sydney’s west. About 6.15pm yesterday (Wednesday 28 May 2014), a 43-year-old woman was in her home on Hegel Avenue, Emerton, when she heard a loud noise from another area in the house. The woman was then confronted by two men, who demanded cash and property. The men had their faces concealed and threatened the woman with a knife. She was able to run to a neighbour’s home where police were contacted. The woman was not injured in the ordeal; however the men made off with an amount of cash. Police from Mt Druitt Local Area Command are investigating the break-in and would like to speak to two men. They are both described as being tall with thin builds, aged 23-25, wearing long-sleeved jackets; one white and the other blue in colour. Anyone with information is urged to come forward. Police are urging anyone with information about this incident to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or use the Crime Stoppers online reporting page: https://www1.police.nsw.gov.au/. Information you provide will be treated in the strictest of confidence. We remind people they should not report crime information via our Facebook and Twitter pages.
