Police are investigating three suspicious fires in the northern suburbs that were lit in the early hours of this morning. At about 12.15am, police and fire crews were called to Charford Street in Elizabeth North after reports of a house fire. The vacant house was extensively damaged, and the cause of the fire is being investigated. Later, at about 2.45am police were called to Harvey Road in Elizabeth South, after a Holden sedan had accelerant poured on it and was set alight. About 30 minutes later, a Toyota sedan suffered minor damage after it was deliberately set on fire in nearby Hill Street. Accelerant was also used in this fire. Both car fires are believed to be linked, and anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in either area is asked to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
