Police arrest 21 year old Bowenfels man – Skye’s Law and related offences. On Friday the 29th August 2014 police arrested a 21 year old man. The man was arrested in a blue Ford Falcon utility that was stolen from Mt Victoria on Thursday the 28th August 2014. The vehicle was then involved in a pursuit with police on the Great Western Highway at Blackheath. The vehicle came to notice of police in Mudgee on two separate occasions when the driver of the stolen vehicle failed to pay for fuel on two separate occasions at a service station in Mudgee. The vehicle came to notice of police again when seen being driven at high speeds in Mudgee this morning about 8.00am. The driver was arrested when he lost control of the vehicle and travelled down a slight embankment after travelling through three fences. The man was also wanted on warrants and was an unlicensed driver. The man has been charged with Driving in a Manner Dangerous - Police Pursuit, Negligent Driving, Unlicensed Driver, Stealing and other related matters. He has been bail refused to appear at Mudgee Local Court today. Police are to be commended for their quick thinking, skill and ability in the arrest removing this offender from the community. We are hopeful that he is not going to frequent our streets for some time.
