Police from Eastern Beaches Local Area Command and Botany Bay Highway Patrol are continuing with their traffic enforcement strategies in the Eastern Beaches LAC. In particular to monitor behaviour and enforce traffic offences committed by car enthusiasts in the areas at the southern end of the local area command. Residents are encouraged to report early activity in these areas to Police. Over the weekend period Police issued 8 traffic penalty notices in this southern area which includes La Perouse and Phillip Bay. A 19 year old male provisional licence holder from Guildford was arrested and charged following a series of traffic offences and ending with a Police pursuit occurring about 6.40pm Sunday 18 August on Anzac Parade, La Perouse. He was later charge at Maroubra Police Station by Botany Bay Highway Patrol officers with 9 offences including negligent driving, driving recklessly and driving in a speed manner dangerous. His licence was suspended and vehicle confiscated. He has been bailed to appear at Waverley Local court on 19 August, 2013.
