Police from Liverpool Local Area Command and South West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad (SWMRES) have arrested five people during a search warrant at Liverpool last night. Just before midnight (Wednesday 7 January 2015), officers have attended a home on The Hume Highway, Liverpool, to execute a search warrant. On arrival police called out for residents to exit the home and four people have run from the house, police pursued them on foot. A short time later, all four were arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station. No one was injured during the incident. Investigators with the assistance of SWMRES have forced entry into the home. The property was searched and a number of items were seized allegedly including a pistol. Three men were released pending further inquiries. One man, aged 49, was charged with an unrelated outstanding warrant for goods in custody. He was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today (Thursday 8 January 2015). Inquiries are continuing.
