Police have obtained an order from the Putrajaya Magistrates Court to further remand four suspects to facilitate investigations into the murder of Customs deputy director-general Datuk Shaharuddin Ibrahim. Magistrate Mohd Zaki Abd Rahman extended the remand of the four for six more days beginning today. The remand order was issued under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The suspects, a 21-year-old private college student, two lorry drivers aged 31 and 32, and a 35-year-old electrician, had earlier been remanded for seven days. Datuk Shaharuddin, who was seating in the passenger seat of his four wheel drive, was gunned down at 8.15am on April 26, last year. He was on the way to his office in Putrajaya when two men on a motorcycle fired three shots at him when the vehicle stopped at a traffic light.
