Police have urged residents to be extra vigilant in securing their property following a series of sneak-in thefts in the Hazlehead and West End areas of the city. Properties in Aberdeens Queens Den and Westholme Avenue area of the city were targeted by opportunistic thieves overnight between Monday 16 June and Tuesday 17 June 2014. In addition, properties in Woodlands Avenue, off Craigton Road, and Baillieswells Grove were targeted between Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 June 2014. As a result handbags, cash and electrical items were taken. PC John Richardson said: Weve issued numerous security messages highlighting the issue of sneak-in thefts and have continued to urge resident to lock their doors, but Id like to take this opportunity to remind people once again that they have to remain vigilant in securing their property as opportunistic thieves are still targeting numerous areas. We are advising people to be alert and report anything suspicious to the Police on 101 or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 111 555.
