Police investigate assault – Werrington: Police are investigating an assault at Werrington, in Sydney’s west. Emergency services were called to a unit block on Albert Street about 7.30pm yesterday (Friday 13 June 2014), where they found a man injured. The 28-year-old was taken to Nepean Hospital where he remains with a fractured skull and facial injuries. Officers from St Marys Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene. Police have been told the man was confronted and assaulted by a group of men after arriving at the location. The group fled the scene and an investigation is underway in an attempt to identify and locate those involved. Police are urging anyone who witnesses the incident, or who has information that may assist, to come forward.
