Polish what you do best rather than trying to fix what you struggle with. We tend to get the most gain in our life out of the things we do best. Everyone has things that they struggle with. They’re just things that we had to do, and as a consequence we don’t do them well, our heart just can’t be in these tasks and they don’t gain is very much. It’s not unlike the 80/20 rule. This says that 20% of our efforts, our customers if we have customers, our investments net us 80% of our rewards. Spend your time really developing the skills you were most adept at. The other things that you’re not particularly good at likely are not developing much benefit for you. These are the things you can think about delegating to others. We seldom think of our time is having a financial value. Try putting a cost on one hour of your work. Ask yourself if it would be worth paying someone that amount to do what you struggle with. If it is, go ahead and do the task. If it is not, find others to do it even if you have to pay them. It becomes an investment not only in good use of your time but your mental energy and mental health. What is the best use of your time?
