Political Speak ( It used to be once called Oratory ) How many great orators are left in the political arena who also are crowd pullers ? A B Vajpayee, before the daily tipple lengthened his pauses to Manmohanic proportions was once a great orator, Bal Thakeray was another who drew crowds that spilled over assigned spaces... Acharya Atre was an excellent extempore orator and now its the younger Thakeray cousin. Modis acolytes say he is a great orator but he is too boring a speaker and that drone can put even his most ardent fans to sleep. Raj Thakeray may not have won many votes or seats in his tenure yet...his flip-flop on standing for elections n withdrawing it soon after confused even his supporters. Can he impact an election, especially this assembly election of 2014? Optimistically , it remains to be seen, realistically, has nuisance value potential and pessimistically , doubtful. But can the man speak ? He can and in spades. That voice has magic, the words are razor sharp, the impact when he is on a roll can be tremendous. His is possibly the only sabha where crowds dont all have to be imported by the truckloads like most leaders today. He doesnt dodge a single question and gives straight answers in interviews. Yesterdays was a sterling example https://youtube/watch?v=Eqz2BM6pyys
