Politics in the church By this I mean, being a political person - TopicsExpress

Politics in the church By this I mean, being a political person and pushing a partisan political agenda within the context of the church. Christadelphians are traditionally not political (discounting internal politics : ) ) and dont vote. However, many of us have questioned this and have become political and have favoured one party over another, advocating for particular leaders and secular governments. Is this helpful for Christian unity? I have come to believe that it is not helpful and is actually a distraction from what should be our main message about the gospel and the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Im all for doing what Christ said about helping the poor, but I just notice that this has taken quite a political turn in some Christian churches. The terms left wing and right wing as applied to Christians shouldnt apply imo as they are divisive. We should be neither, but rather be focussed on God through Christ and doing His will. I welcome any comments about this.
