Pondering this today; So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day. (Genesis 1:27, 31 NIV) God created man on the sixth day of creation. The next day This is what happened; By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he RESTED from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he RESTED from all the work of creating that he had done. (Genesis 2:2-3 NIV, emphasis mine) The VERY first day of mans life was REST. Am I resting in my service of Our Lord? Do I honor Him by taking time to refresh, rejuvenate, study His word and sit still to listen to His voice? If not, am I being disobedient to Him by omission of His word? Rest, the new weapon God has given me. Resting in Him. After all, our first day of life was a day of rest. Thank you Lord for opening my eyes and helping me to understand that rest just as important as busyness. Amen.
