Poor Suzy is a 6 month old BOY that came in to the shelter underweight, dehydrated and dirty. It makes me sad to sit and wonder what this sweet boy has been through, because he has corneal scarring with “obstruction of vision” in his eyes, but at only 6 months old? My heart breaks for him, because now the shelter has slapped a New Hope rating on him, and do you know why? Because he is scared. Why is he scared? BECAUSE HE CAN’T SEE! Imagine being in jail with goggles on that are blurry and scratched, but no matter what you can’t take them off and you can’t figure out where you are or what is happening. That is exactly what is happening to Suzy. He’s in a cage and he cannot figure out why. If I were him, I would try to run away too. It was noted in his assessment that he showed NO outward signs of aggression. This boy is not aggressive, he is just afraid. Please get Suzy to a SAFE, CALM, CARING environment where he does not have to feel so scared anymore, and he will come out of his shell and be a lovely companion with a little TLC.
