Poor old Noah had to be considered a real weirdo by his peers. Sure, he had a private conversation with God. Sure, he was building a big ship to house two of every living species. Sure, God was going to send rain. They didn’t even know what rain was. After a while he had to have become the town joke. More than a hundred years went by before the waters were released from heaven and poured up from the ground. Talk about a time of testing. When we face the unknown it’s nothing compared to what Noah had to endure. The great heroes of the Bible were not just fictional characters with fantastic stories. They were real people like you and me. They took their share of hard knocks in their lives, but with God’s help they endured impossible odds. Dear Lord, each day my faith is being tested. Our world is full of evil. I sometimes wonder how much longer you will put up with it. Stay with me and lead me out of temptation. It’s a daily battle, but with you I know you have already won the victory.
