Popa asked me to post what one of Grannys boys sent to me. He wants people who have never been to Haiti to be able to understand what Granny has meant to the Haitian people. This is from Fleurissaint Leonel: Has a little boy, I can remember what happened. I lived at Petite-Anse near the market place. living with my aunt. one day a lady came. she is trying to buy food for some kids, I was near by, then she saw me and my brother. wow! she asked for us. After a couple weeks I saw 2 people came. they were Altagrace and someone else. they ride me and my brother in a bike to the orphanage, it was a night. I saw they guide to a kitchen where I saw the same pretty lady. She gave us papaya and other things to eat. now she took us to the room where I saw so many boys. she gave both of us a bed for our own..... many years passed, she is taking care of us. Jesus, my life change for real. I am a strong boy now. She is she and she is a mother. she is a family, she is granny and she is lovely and kind to everybody. she is a heart, spread her love up in heaven. I remember all my struggles and my fear. she took away all of them and gave me strength through God.
