Pope Francis: Good Catholics need not be like rabbits by Lynda Jumilla, ABS-CBN News Posted at 01/20/2015 3:25 AM ABOAD THE PAPAL FLIGHT – Pope Francis urged Catholics to practice responsible parenthood, saying good Catholics need not be like rabbits. The Pope was referring to the ability and tendency of rabbits to multiply rather uncontrollably. Francis cited as example a woman who was pregnant with her eighth child, with the previous seven delivered via caesarian section. “This is an irresponsibility,” he said. “Now I trust in God (they say). But look, God gives you the way, the possibility, to be responsible. Some say that –excuse the word– to be good Catholic, we have to be like rabbits.” Francis said the Church is for responsible parenthood, which can be practiced through dialogues between families and church leaders and church groups that are expert on marriages.
