Pope Francis met with 100 young refugees from Turkey, Syria, Iraq, Middle East & Africa -being served by the Oratory of the Salesians who care for those escaping violent conflicts in the Middle East: Yours is the sad consequence of brutal conflicts & war -always evils & never solve problems; rather, they only create new ones. The degrading conditions in which so many refugees are forced to live are intolerable! So, we must do everything possible to eradicate the causes of this situation. He recognized efforts of Catholic organizations & relief agencies assisting those in need & expressed gratitude to Turkish authorities for the great efforts theyve made to assist displaced Syrian & Iraqi refugees -for their tangible commitment trying to meet their needs. He encouraged young refugees to not lose hope despite obstacles: The Catholic Church is with you, also through the invaluable work of Salesians. Always remember: God doesnt forget any of his children. The smallest & those who suffer most are closest to the Father’s heart. The Church will remain at your side & hold up your cause before the world.
