Popular Chicago MC Common is getting back to his musical roots after taking a break to get his acting credits up. For the first single from the upcoming album “Nobody’s Smiling” is the heavy track “Kingdom.” The song spends its time addressing the gun violence in Chicago. While the song is specific to Chicago, the situations Common and guest rapper Vince Staples rhyme about on the song happen in every ghetto across the world. Common paints a portrait of the dire situation in the streets with, “Shots ripping through his True Religion denim / These streets was my religion.”
