Port Talbot teen who jumped on £250,000 McLaren ordered to pay £300 compensation A teenager who framed himself jumping on a £250,000 supercar has been ordered to pay £300 compensation to the millionaire driver. The 17-year-old leered into a camera as he caused £10,000 damage to a flash McLaren 12C Spider parked in a side street by the wealthy businessman. A court heard how the jobless yob pulled a surfing pose on the bonnet as friends photographed him. But the snap of him standing on the 207mph sports cars gleaming white carbon fibre bodywork went viral on Facebook and Twitter - and the owner called in detectives. Police traced him from the Twitter picture and the red-faced teenager was hauled up in front of court where he admitted criminal damage. Youth court chair Roberta Parker told him: This was a really stupid thing to do. You would be very angry with someone if that had been your car. Try to think before you do anything stupid again. The wealthy driver parked it on double yellow lines in Port Talbot, near Swansea, while he went to a restaurant. The businessman saw a crowd of teenagers taking pictures - but thought that is to be expected with a top end motor which can do 0-60 in three seconds. James McKenna, defending, said: The photograph says it alls. A number of people were taking photographs of this British supercar. The defendent just wanted to be different but had no intention of damaging it. It was impulsive, foolish, unacceptable and very reckless behaviour. The teenager told the court he was very sorry for his actions and would have been very upset if he had been on the receiving end of such behaviour. The court handed him a youth rehabilitation order and pay £300 compensation - the cost of buffing out the scuff marks. The car owner - who has not been named - has indicated that he would be footing the rest of the £10,000 bill himself. The youth court hearing in Swansea heard the damage was so substantial because every part of the car is specially handcrafted. Prosecutor Craig Jones said the value of the car had dropped because of the damage that had occured. He said: The car is hand built with a value of about £250,000 and was bought by the owner in April. He had not noticed it had been damaged when he returned to it from the restaurant. But the following morning a friend sent him the picture from the internet. He then noticed two scuff marks on the bonnet and when he lifted it a support boom on the inside was dented. The driver, who does not want to be identified, said: It was a little bit disappointing to say the least. You shouldnt expect to have that sort of thing.
