Portland: 19th Annual Blues Harmonica Summit In February we had to cancel the 19th Annual Blues Harmonica Summit because Mother Nature just flat said NO! Great Thanks to Kathleen at the Melody Ballroom, who has let us reschedule our show for Saturday April 19th. The show will start at 8:00 pm and go until 12:00 midnight with the same line-up as we had set for February. Located at 615 S.E. Alder St., here in Portland, OR. Heres our line-up ------- Comin Round The Mountain from Bend, OR. will be Lynnann Hyde and Stu Kinzel. Great Blues Duo! Lynnann has a unique way of scaring the guys on the bill with her downhome harp work! The Grandaddy of Portland harmonica -- Johnnie Ward will have his usual killer harp work. A seasoned vet of many Portland Blues groups - Dave Mathis (currently with Michael Osborn and the Drivers) is guaranteed to bring his straight ahead Blues harp blowing! Harpist Mike Moothart will be making a Special appearance at the show! Mike has been fighting cancer for the last few months and is eager to play! His extraordinary style caught the attention of Harpmaster Paul deLay and he is still a favorite of Curtis Salgado! And last will be Bill Rhoades. Another Northwest Harp player from the mists of time! Backing all the mouth organists will be an All-Star House Band with Katey Angel on bass, Jolie Clausen on drums, Chuck Laiti on guitar and Newel C Briggs on guitar! In time for Spring -- Kick off those Winter Blues with sounds from the Blues Harmonica!
