Portrait session client tip for session prepping ... On average a portrait session SHOULD cost you anywhere in the ball park of $200 - $300 for an hour or more long sitting. Granted it depends on the photographers style if you pay more than that, but the idea of a portrait session for less than $100 SHOULD scare you away. Mini sessions are exempt for this, of course! So when youre planning for a family session and want to make sure you can budget to get everything you want, go big and budget for at least $75 MORE than what the photographer quotes you. Why? Because most of us like to offer great little photo gifts, or add-ons that a lot of people dont take into consideration when theyre prepping their budgets. This way even if you dont spend the extra, you could always put that towards your Bi-Annual portrait refresher fund, and be well on your way to having it covered for next time too! :)
