Position: Facility Improvement Mentor x 9 Location: Gauteng x 4; WC x 1, Mpumalanga x 4 Reporting to: Provincial Health Management Improvement Manager The Facility Improvement Mentor position will implement all initiatives linked to the ideal clinic initiative as directed by the NDoH, PDoH and support health facilities in meeting the national core standards. These will be supported through training and mentoring. Qualifications & Experience: • Minimum qualification health related diploma Diploma or Certification in Administration • Training and mentoring experience • 3-5 year experience in PHC and health information management • 3years experience in the government sector Key Responsibilities • Implement RTC’s quality improvement approaches to health care and provide on-site support to staff at facility and community level • Conduct assessments, training and mentorship to build capacity of facility staff to implement SAG initiatives such as the ideal clinic, ICSM/ICDM and PC 101 • Support facility managers in tracking performance and use of routine information for planning, supply chain management and decision-making • Build and maintain partnerships with all internal and external stakeholders, including district Departments of Health, community bodies and civil society groups • Support the functionality of PHC Re-engineering teams (ISHP, WBOT, DCST) through capacity-building. • Strengthen the links between the community health workers and the facilities • Strengthen the links between the community health workers and the facilities • Provide progress report on the programme performance by generating and submitting monthly programme report to the Provincial Health Management Improvement Manager using appropriate template • Facilitate data management and monthly reporting for DORA and PEPFAR • Support the integration of TB/HIV programmes with other chronic diseases in facilities • Work collaboratively with other RtC clinical and non-clinical programmes • Provide support to operational researches and studies by availing required data as defined in the RTC management approved research protocol • Ad hocs: Provide required strategic support to other RTC’s initiative not necessarily within HMI but considered important and authorised by direct line manager Technical and behavioural Skills • Good interpersonal skills • Good analytical skills • Computer skills: Email, Word, Excel, Power Point • Ability to work under pressure • Ability to work independently • Must be able to travel • Must have driver’s licence Interested applicants must submit their CV, a copy of their ID and qualifications and letter of motivation by: Emailing: [email protected] Fax number: 086 433 2646 Date advertised: 15 October 2014 Closing date: 30 October 2014 at 16h00
