Through its Emergency Response Department (ERD), created in 2006 after the merge with Atlas Logistique, the organization is committed to: * Provide an adequate response to major natural disaster and conflict situations, anywhere in the world as much as possible within 72 hours; * Provide assistance to vulnerable groups (refugees, IDPs, persons with injuries, elders, children, etc.) affected by a crisis and maximize the number of beneficiaries. Within vulnerable groups, target especially PwD and meet their specific needs; * Constantly monitor chronic crises and/or conflicts to ensure preparedness for and rapid response to eventual emerging needs. MISSION CONTEXT Following the 2 yearlong crisis in the Syrian Arab Republic, that has caused the displacement of civilians in Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan, Handicap International is implementing projects in Lebanon and Jordan, aiming at mitigating the impact of the crisis on the Syrian refugees and the host communities. In Lebanon as well as in Jordan, Handicap International aims to improve the access to emergency rehabilitation cares for the Syrian refugees at hospital and community level and to improve the coverage of the specific needs of the most vulnerable people affected by the crisis at the community level. PROJECT DESCRIPTION IN JORDAN HI will implement his emergency mechanism (disbilitiy and vulnerability focal point) in order to target the most vulnerable persons who have a lack of access to the humanitarian intervention and to re establish this access through direct provision of service or referal. JOB PROFILE General objective of the position: The main objective of the physiotherapist position is to ensure appropriate rehabilitation care to people with injuries and people with disabilities. Tasks and responsibilities: Under the direct responsibility of the Protection Project Manager and its Project Officer, in close collaboration with the pluridisciplinary DVFP team (social workers, psychosocial workers), and with the support of a regional technical advisor, you will have to: * Identify specific needs of the programme beneficiaries, contribute to the assessment of these needs and/or directly assess these needs as required: * To assess functional capacities of the beneficiaries and identify their needs in terms of rehabilitation and specific items: * To offer safe and appropriate rehabilitation interventions: * To refer beneficiary to other services when needed: * Participate to the psychosocial strategy of intervention by identifying the beneficiairies needs: * Report data on group activities, follow-up on individual cases and organize the daily and weekly activities: * Participate in the analysis and reporting of global issues in the refugee population, with a focus on rehabilitation issues: * On demand, participate to build other team members and partner organizations (in assessing the needs of people in terms of rehabilitation, mobility aids or assistive devices: * To demonstrate an ethical and professional practice: * To demonstrate willingness to improve professional competencies to increase quality of care: Note that this job description as well as the location of work must remain flexible and is subject to changes, to respond to additional tasks or changes as identified by the line manager. PROFILE OF THE CANDIDATE Experience: * At least one year of experience in the field of rehabilitation * A previous experience with an NGOs or a work-related in the field of emergency would be an asset Diploma: * Degree in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy Languages * Arabic * English Knowledge * Vulnerability and disability * Non governemental organisation environnement Skills * Good communication and listening skills * Common sense * Proactive * Adaptation to specific working conditions * Capacity to work in team and autonomously * Capacity to work in an multidisciplinary and multicultural team * Dynamism, high level of motivation * Interest for social work and field work * Capacity to keep professional distance with the beneficiaries / adopt empathic positioning * Willingness to learn new skills and/or approaches * Good capacity to interact with members of the team and community CONTRACT CONDITIONS Tha salary will be defined regarding the HI salary scale on-going.
