Position Title: Regional Assistant - Micronesia Location: Majuro, Marshall Islands Status: Full time employee Project: Pacific-American Climate Fund Job Code: HR use only Approval Date HR use only SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES Partners for Global Research and Development (PGRD) is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to support USAID Pacific Islands and its Mission to the Philippines in reducing long-term vulnerabilities associated with climate change and achieving sustainable climate-resilient development at the community level. The project will establish the Pacific-American Climate Fund, a grant making facility that will provide and monitor grants for climate change adaptation measures. Administration of the Pacific-American Climate Fund entails preparing and issuing solicitations, reviewing proposals, awarding grants, monitoring and evaluating grant performance, monitoring and auditing financial reports, ensuring due diligence and compliance with USAID rules and regulations, closing out grants, and reporting to USAID. The Pacific-American Climate Fund will also provide organizational capacity-building to local sub-grantees to ensure proper stewardship of USG funding and improved organizational and financial management of local partners. The Regional Assistant - Micronesia will work closely with the Regional Fund Manager in Micronesia to support the execution of grant-making and grant management tasks for the region. Responsibilities include: ■ Arrange the Regional Fund Managers travel within the Micronesia and manage his/her travel schedule ■ Assist with data entry and other grant monitoring support tasks ■ Answer incoming telephone calls and emails ■ Perform office management duties including maintaining the file system and ordering supplies Qualifications: ■ Demonstrated experience working within Micronesia ■ 3 years’ administrative support experience ■ English proficiency ■ Local language fluency Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: ■ Excellent verbal and written communication skills ■ Experience supporting program monitoring efforts, preferably grant monitoring ■ Knowledge of travel options and challenges within Micronesia ■ Ability to manage the day-to-day operations of an office ■ Ability to work as a team player as well as individually ■ Proven initiative, creativity, and problem solving skills ■ Ability to maintain a positive and respectful attitude ■ Ability to prioritize the tasks associated with a project or projects ■ Experience working with international programs preferred Please submit a resume, cover letter, salary history, and three references to [email protected].
