Possibly the biggest sign that my boyfriend is a keeper (as if I didnt already know that) dawned on me tonight when we had a discussion on religion. He asked me questions, and I answered as best I could. He asked Whys, What Ifs, What Abouts, Lets Says, and listened to what I had to say. If he didnt agree, all he said was, I dont know if I buy into that. But what gave me such relief and such peace was that when all I could say was, I dont have an answer for that, he didnt completely invalidate my entire belief system. He didnt say, See? Because your beliefs just arent true, period. He didnt earnestly seek out that one little gap in my entire web of ideals that he could use to rip the whole thing apart, and that is an outcome Ive so rarely experienced when sharing my beliefs. With him, I am allowed to not have all the answers without being considered an idiot. I am allowed to still be trying to figure this out. I am grateful, I am relieved, and I am once again reminded by one boy that humankind is not always hateful and unkind.
