Post Christmas Crime Prevention 1. Throw wrapping paper, gift bags, gift boxes and other identifying markings of gifts into a solid colored trash bag. Its recommended you use a 2mil or thicker trash bag. 2. Breakdown all boxes from electronics, kitchen and other type items and put inside of trash bags. 3. Dont put Christmas gift trash out for trash pick up until necessary for pick-up. The fewer people who see it the better. 4. What ever you do dont put TV or other expensive item boxes out in the yard or out for trash pick up. It invites criminals to take your valuable new items. 5. If you have access to a dumpster or public landfill take holiday trash to the dumpster or landfill your self. 6. Photograph and document the make, model, serial number and other identifying information of your property so you can share it with law enforcement and your insurance company in the tragic event it is stolen.
