Post by Jocelyn Byrnes Hi Wynnum What. Sorry for the angry rant but it has to be said. We went to the Wynnum foreshore for a walk tonight and I was really disgusted and frustrated by the amount of rubbish people had just dumped near the completely overflowing bins (or couldnt even be bothered leaving near a bin and left piles of trash) and of course a lot of it was just blowing around, no doubt to end up in the sea, looking feral and doing all sorts of nasty things to the wildlife. Cans and bottles were scuttling around the car park like New Years in the valley and rubbish was everywhere. It made me really mad and disappointed in the community. And on Australia Day of all times- youd think there would be *some* respect for the environment and the desire to keep the place not looking like a dump. Seriously guys, its really not rocket science or a massive imposition- if you were able to carry it there in the first place logic says you can carry it back once youve eaten. If it doesnt fit in the bin you know its just going to end up in the bay. Please, please take some responsibility for the mess you make. If you dont you bring down the whole community, foul the bay, choke the dugongs and piss off nice people that ordinarily think that Wynnumites are pretty awesome and not lazy grotty slobs with no environmental conscience. Perhaps council could put up signs that explain that leaving your crap to blow into the sea is pretty lame. And youll be fined. And add a few more bins too while theyre at it. Ok, rant over. Thanks.
