Post from Allecia - children locking themselves in the car I would share this info as I had never thought about it until today when my son accidentally locked himself in our car. We had just spent the morning at the beach and as habit my husband had turned the car on to cool the car down and proceeded to put the surfboards on top. I was dressing my daughter and my son had climbed into the car and closed the door behind him and accidentally (I think) and pushed the door locks. So the car was running (thankfully!!) but he was locked inside! We panicked and were trying to explain to him which button to push on the front dashboard to unlocked the car. We ended up getting him to wind the windows down so we could get in (though this took us longer than we would like to admit :)) but we have just sat our 3 year old twins down and shown them the button to push if they get locked in a car and how to open the front doors. I had never even thought about it until today and thought I would share.
