Post on mobile.bloomberg/news/2014-03-23/taiwan-riot-police-move-on-trade-protesters-in-cabinet-compound.html I wanted to share the following from a man in Spain - who commented on this article. ...., J.A. Pérez 14 hours ago I do love Taiwan, and their people. Feel that island like my second home. they are kind, peaceful and respectful. the people i know in mainland China is like that too. So i wondered since the first moment, what makes them react like that. I support the free trade everywhere... but the problem i see here is that they cant make a free trade deal with a countrs government that has not real freedom for their own people, and who wont recognise the freedom of the territory (since they try to claim it back). Another problem is that the KMT doesnt want to make it public or discuss about it, so people even dont know what is it about. You all are right, people should respect the laws, but firstly the government must be the first one respecting them. Politicians, in many ocassions, think theirselves smarter than everybody... , but they make mistakes as every human. At least they should give the chance to people to know what consequences will it bring, if they are right or if they are not. Just powerful countries dare to make free trade with Taiwan, the weak ones like mine wont dare, because they fear China sanctions in their own trade deals i doubt that deal was in the election program when they voted in2012, but maybe i am wrong, sorry if dont have so much information. we have the same problem in Europe, politicians build a huge structure of laws, but they are the first one that wont respect them . (How could it come that somebody that makes a taxing increase, consider themselves, free of taxes in many ways?) Believe me, i am from Spain, i know what bad decissions and bad interventions could cause in the society. Best regards to everybody ;)
