Posted: 08 Nov 2013 02:26 AM PST Jobs at: National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) Vacancy title: Senior Procurement Officer Deadline of this Job: 15th November, 2013 Job details: NATIONAL WATER AND SEWERAGE CORPORATION National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) a leading organisation in the Water sector in Uganda with a Vision “To be a leading water Utility in the world” seeks to recruit suitably qualifi ed candidates to fi ll the vacant positions mentioned below: Job Title: Senior Procurement Offi cer (01) Reports To: Principal Procument Offi ce r Main purpose of the job: Timely, cost effective acquisition of Works and Services in consultation and collaboration with the relevant stakeholders/users in the Corporation in compliance with procurement rules and regulations. Key result areas: 1. Ensure preparation of the consolidated procurement plan. 2. Ensure preparation of the statutory procurement and disposal reports. 3. Timely value for money procurement and disposal of goods in accordance with NWSC, PPDA Act regulations, Guidelines & Disposal reports. 4. Ensure bidding/solicitations are in the required formats and are approved. 5. Prepare and present submissions to Contracts Committee. 6. Prepare contracts documents and Board papers. 7. Monitor contract implementation, compliance and performance of providers. 8. Receive, Open and evaluate bids in accordance with the PPDA regulation guidelines. 9. Review prepared specifi cations, Bills of Quantities and Terms of reference prepared by the user Department and providing timely guidance and feedback to users. 10. Professional guideline on procurement and disposal procedures and practices. Requirement: Person Specifi cations Required academic qualifi cations and experience: • Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Logistics and supply Chain management. Business Administration, Engineering or Law or equivalent qualifi cation in the relevant fi eld. • Postgraduate qualifi cation in Procurement and Supplies Chain Management. • Possession of full professional qualifi cation in procurement • A minimum of four (4) years working experience in procurement related activities. Personal attributes: • High level of Integrity and maturity. • Must be dependable and highly reliable. • Must be able to work for long hours with minimum supervision. • Result oriented, team player and fl exible. • Good customer care.
