Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task. I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow. So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. -Today’s commentary by Christian from CCPC Christian growth is a mystery. Yet what freedom knowing this can bring! We can add one part, someone else does another, but only God is in charge of the results. Sometimes we don’t grow because we don’t allow others to water our lives; sometimes we think we’re not growing when, in actuality, we’re measuring the wrong things. Yet when we realize that only God causes growth, then we can be content to serve others without feeling the pressure to produce something that only God can do.
