There are few details to report at this time; however, the Florida Highway Patrol is purporting at least one fatality as a result of the accident. UPDATE: The FHP has released a preliminary report on this morning’s fatal accident on Cortez Blvd. According to officials, the driver a 2004 Nissan Frontier was traveling eastbound on Cortez Blvd, when the driver lost control and slammed into a tree line on the south shoulder. The driver, a 45-year-old New Port Richey woman, who has yet to be identified, sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, according to the report.
