I have bouts of depression from time to time and its like I am fighting with a cruel monster and sometimes I feel like it has beaten me so I rest and gather my strength, make sure I at least go for a walk each day, do stretching exercises, change my diet to no wheat products, have carrot, apple, lemon and celery juice, do at least one job for the day, look at lots of positive pictures and quotes, make sure I go and socialise for at least a couple of hrs every week even if I dont feel like it. That helps me back on track eventually. Feeling loved is an incredible help also. If my legs arent broken and I am breathing I have to keep trying to reach level grounds and it happens. Usually the things that surface with my anxietys can be changed over a period of time or accepted which helps my energy levels. I am one of the very lucky people but I do understand the dark place some go to. Accepting that depression is part of your life and try to keep life simple can make a difference. People who have severe depression become isolated, lonely and confused. Its like an invisible wall keeping them a prisoner. Changes need to be made in their lives so they are able to function and most can be helped in many ways by family, friends, support groups, observation of others, coping skills, counselling and working with your depression.
