Posted this elsewhere... but will re-post here to keep my friends updated... five days post-accident... she is bruising more and more... her sides, right hip and knee, and especially on her right hand and forearm. I went to the accident site today - she traveled maybe 15 feet off the road and hit TWO oak tress head on at 50 mph. My first airsucking moment was when I saw the wrecked car at the junkyard for the first time. The second was this morning when I saw the two LARGE oak trees that she hit. Wow. A sobering moment for this guy, for a fact. Right now she is on the deck soaking up some sun while she visits with two of her favorite people Amy Samsury and Amys daughter. She made it out there on her own steam, and is enjoying her visit from her friends. It gives me pure joy to hear her laughing and talking with folks. Especially after having a moment several hours ago when she had the memories of the accident flood over her again, leaving her weeping. A long extended hug from me and several of my stupid stories and/or jokes got her laughing again. Its what I do... dumb jokes and even dumber stories. I have been able to make her laugh from our very first date in Juneau, Alaska in 1974.... I still got it. More importantly... I still have HER.
