Dear Merren, Angela, Glenn, Joel, Rachel and Lindy (and Sam and Alice) Today was a very sad day for me and my kids, because today we said goodbye to our Matapihi Kindy family. Thank you so much to all of you who have given both Hektor and Olympia such an amazing place to learn and grow in every way imaginable. Such intuitive, sensitive and thoughtful teachers, and not just where the kids were concerned. Thank you for your countless chats with me, reassuring me about various stages of the kids development. Thank you for the endless photos and stories that kept me up to date and gave me the chance to see my children through your eyes. Thank you for Ur Taio (forrest kindy) which allowed my children the chance to, get to know insects intimately, play with eels, run in the rain, experience getting as muddy as they would dare to get and climb, climb, climb . Thank you for your changing theme rooms which Ive seen as a space room, a doctors surgery, a jungle, a pirate ship, a marae, a music room and a vet surgery. It was wonderful to see the kids immerse themselves and become whatever their imagination conjured up. Thank you for the the fruit trees, the monarch caterpillars and butterflies, the fairy garden, the chickens, the giant sunflowers, the outdoor mud kitchen, the mud slide, the mud pit, the water pump and hose that soaked the kids throughout the summer and the boat rides on the lake. Thank you for the glue gun, the sandpit, the bikes, the swings, the play-dough, the hammers and nails, the wooden blocks, cars, fairy wings, animal costumes, paints and a quiet room full of books, books, books! Its been a magical experience for our wholefamily to be a part of. Im grateful to have had such a place on my doorstep. Well all miss you very much. Much love, Ange
