Power Study - Eph. 6: 1-17 (focal verse Eph. 6:11). How Not to Adapt to the Environment Youre In. Evangelist Angela Scott. God loves us so much that he wont let us stay in the state were in. We must begin to see ourselves as God sees us. We must begin to believe what God says about us and not what we say or others say about us. In Ephesians 6, Paul begins to set order and he starts with the children. Children honor your parents, that it might be well with you and so you may live long on the earth. Then he goes on to the fathers. He tells them not to provoke their children to wrath, lest it leads them to rebellion. FATHERS (not parents). Fathers are the HEAD and order comes from the Head. From there, he goes to the Servants, telling them to obey their masters, not to be seen by men (man pleasers), but from their hearts, like a servant of Christ, knowing that whatever good thing a man does, the same shall receive of the Lord. Paul then sets order with the Masters, telling them to respect their servants and treat them well, knowing that their master is also in Heaven and he had no respect of persons. Paul then tells the brethren (the church) to be STRONG in the Lord and in the power of HIS might. We must put on the whole armor of God because we will need it to fight against the types of spiritual wickedness that the enemy brings our way. We have to recognize spirits when theyre approaching us. These spirits are the things that provoke us and pull you out of Gods will. We have to put up a resistance to them.....THE WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD. With it we will be able to withstand in these last and evil days. Gird your loins with TRUTH and take up the Breastplate of RIGHTEOUSNESS- If youre walking in truth and integrity, there is a freedom that permeates your life. You must have truth in your inward parts, so that even if you tell a lie, the truth belt will convict you. Be faithful with the truth. The breastplate of righteousness guards your heart and keeps evil from entering our hearts. Your feet should be shod with the preparation of the Gospel of PEACE. Make up in your mind that whatever you do and where ever you go...... YOU WILL HAVE PEACE. Where ever your feet go, there will be peace. God will keep you in perfect peace, if your mind is stayed on Him. ABOVE ALL, take up the shield of FAITH. Without faith, you wont be able to you wont be able to defend yourself against the fiery darts of the wicked. Wear the helmet of SALVATION and the sword of the SPIRIT - These represent the Word of God. When the enemy comes accusing and we dont respond with the Word of God.... then it gets in our hearts. We MUST respond with the Word of God. The Word of God must be inside us, in our hearts. In order for the enemy to attack us, he must study us. He knows our strengths and our weaknesses. He wont attack you in an area where you are strong, but will attack you where he knows youre weak and he can gain ground. A chameleon adapts to his environment by changing colors. We as saints cannot keep changing our colors by adapting to whatever environment were in. We must get to a place of stability and soundness. We must take authority over anything that comes against us. Many of us are Living Under The Influence (LUI). Cant move right, cant talk right, have no joy, no peace.... nothing is in order. If something or someone (a spirit) can move us away from the Spirit of God, then that spirit has too much power. The saints have got to quit saying I feel some type of way about situations. Youve got to be able to identify a spirit in order to deal with it. You cant deal with anything unless you can identify it. If you cant recognize the enemy operating in your life, youll never be able to defeat him. We often allow the enemy to come in because we dont know him. Many times we get involved in the craziness that goes on around us (on our jobs, in our homes, etc.). We have then adapted to the environment were exposed to, and it keeps us at the altar every week seeking deliverance. This is called INSANITY ..... doing the same thing over and over, the same way, and expecting a different result. Your blessings CANT over take you if they cant find you. Put on your armor and keep it on. It’s going to be a fight, but in order to win the fight, youve got to have on your armor.
