Power, You Give It Away. You are alone, frightened and powerless to act. No you arent. You always have the power to do something, but you choose to give your power away. You may be ashamed. You may be physically intimidated. You could fear something bad could happen to those you love. It is you who gives your power away to make an asshole stronger. How do you stop the ass? Sunlight is always the best disinfectant. Expose that sob and make him stand in the light of his threats. If he is drinking and driving with your kids at risk, tell him that is unacceptable. If the hint isnt enough, tell a few million friends on Facebook. That will embarrass him and he should stop. If not involve the authorities. Protect the kids at all costs. If he threatens you with suicidal behavior, make sure he doesnt make it a package deal. Keep your distance record and report the behavior. He could be crying out for help. You need to make sure he gets it. Finally, peer pressure is another way power is lost. Parties gang up on you to make you feel like the outsider. Keep in perspective their motivations. The other woman wants your man and kids. They are never going to say nice things because they hate you for what you have. They are green with envy and capable of doing anything to destroy you. Their goal is to become you. So remember these things as you feel powerless. You are only giving your power away.
