Power of Discouragement Read Exodus 4:1 through 6:30 God and Moses met together. The Lord gave Moses the words He wanted delivered to His people. God had heard their groaning. He vowed to drive the Israelites out of bondage and guide them into a land of provision. The years of labor had apparently taken a toll on the Israelites. Making bricks from mud and straw and gathering the straw was a never-ending duty that caused sadness and despair. As often happens, despair led to doubt instead of hope for deliverance. Does that happen in today’s culture? Is there hope? Can’t God’s promises for His people help bring freedom and hope in the midst of modern bondage?
