Power restored under pressure to CRPF camps SRINAGAR: Within hours of disconnecting electricity to armed forces camps situated in Srinagar city, authorities in Kashmir were forced to restore the supply due to political pressure on Power Development Department. Kashmirs Power Development Department Friday launched a drive against the electricity defaulters which include some top bureaucrats, politicians, hotels and industries. The department issued notices to the defaulters in Srinagar city, asking them to either deposit the default money or else, the power connections would be disconnected. The power supply to CRPF camps located in Bemina, Magarmal Bagh, Budshah Flats and Gogji Bagh was disconnected and their officers were told to clear their dues. However, within hours of disconnecting the supply, we got calls from senior government officials directing us to restore their supply, a senior PDD official said.
