Power to do what???? Power to be a witness..... Acts1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” What does a witness do??? DO they: walk the streets and talk to people about Jesus... hand out tracks.... picket outside of strip clubs and casinos..... build church buildings..... try to do scripture in the flesh..... judge others...... baptize people in the name of Jesus.... start ministries....... write Christian books..... record Christian music...... make youtube videos about God...... ask for donations........ set public policy........ function in tax exempt status........???? NO, THIS IS NOT WHAT A WITNESS DOES........ Adam can do all the things I just listed quite easily........ This all a FORM of Godliness but it denies Gods power...... TRUE POWER ONLY EXISTS IN WHAT CHRIST DOES...as POWER is the substance of Christ alone. A WITNESS BEHOLDS CHRIST..... A witness watches Jesus do it all. A witness sees the glory of God(who is Christ Himself). Seeing Jesus as He is(in us) ...in action is what makes us a witness..... Any man who thinks he has some kind of capability will always try to function in that capability. Yet it takes POWER to do nothing. Try being still for 20 seconds........It actual takes work to get that done....Being still goes against Adams nature. Adam thinks He is able bodied. Adam thinks his strength is great and sufficient. Not knowing that his strength is actual weakness. We can only behold Him when we are still. We can only behold His glory when we stop moving and we watch Him move. Be still and know means: we can only know Him when we cease from our labor (religious dead works) and are still. Adam tries to cast out demons or heal the sick...like thats a miracle or something..... A blind man seeing Christ (through the single(fixed) eye of Christ/or the eyes of Christ)......this is a miracle. All that Paul accomplished He counted dung/loss/doo doo compared to just seeing/knowing/witnessing Jesus. Its Adams dead life that gets in the way. Adam needs to die(the death of Christ) and lie still so Adam can witness the resurrection of Christ(or watch Christ rise in action). So what of this resurrection of Christ???? Lets talk POWER.... Jesus......who formed the world(and all it contains) in His hands lay in a tomb. A cave with a massive boulder blocking the entrance... He could have called 10,000 angels. He could have commanded the boulder to move. Yet there He lay...like Lazarus. Blessed are the meek. Jesus did not deliver Himself. He did not move in His own ability(not desiring to be considered equal with God before man). He waited for God to deliver Him. You see..... it takes POWER to not use your power.... This is meekness and meekness is the fruit of Christ. So we continue with this whole resurrection thing. The same God that sent the angel to strengthen Him while He was praying in the garden. That God..... rolled the stone away.....and that God exalted Him to the Highest place.....and that God caused Him to ascend......and that God revealed Jesus to men as equally/absolutely God. God made Jesus a WITNESS.....and we shall be like Him. Sharing in His death(stillness) and His resurrection(Gods lifting/moving of us). In between all that is sharing in His meekness and His clear vision. This is our destiny and inheritance. To die and to inherit Christ living and doing in us according to His POWER(that works in us). That power is the power of the resurrection. We see Him because we are still. We know Him because we are doing nothing but sitting at His feet looking up at Him. We are innocent bystanders.......
