Prabhu can you please explain jainism to me ..? Well firstly it is a very complex array of truths ,which are fundamentally of 'vedic source' but rely on 'mundane ' ideas from outside disciplic succession science.In other words though it uses vedic term these terms are not based necessarily on correct appreciations.But stretched and used in indiscriminate fashions to accrue certain precepts and ideas.They basically seem to use terms we are used to but the meanings are incorrect.Thus it is of negligible use,like a poor violin player forced to learn again from the start,pay extra because he must be untrained from the bad habits he has accrued.Jainism is all about being 'non violent' in its most fundamental sense,the sacred nature of all living beings certainly its most glorious attribute. However it is once again seriously deficient on the nature of the soul.Thus its leaders have simply been left adrift from serious secrets of the nature of the soul.Reading their teachings one can see a huge thrust and cross pollination from vedic texts and culture.However it is without a living breathing orthodox disciplic succession of gurus,their essence (knowledge of the soul)is now clouded and mixed with the idea the soul is matter and spirit akin to christian speculations thus it is deemed redundant...
