Practicing a religion demands a tremendous sense of humor - TopicsExpress

Practicing a religion demands a tremendous sense of humor sometimes. Ive been working on trying to really keep Sunday devoted to God. Its harder than it seems these days. So, I decided to go to two churches today. Just felt like doing that. Im Catholic, but I like to keep my eye on the Protestants, too. ;) I learn good things about God and myself in both places. At Mass the homily was about how to conduct yourself during Mass, among other deeper stuff about St. Peter. The practical part of the homily was about not wearing anything distracting to others, (years ago I sat behind a woman wearing a T-shirt that said, Ive got crabs, so I see their point!), not bringing food into the sanctuary, (this was directed to all the rug rats and their sandwich bags of Cheerios...you know who you are!). Meanwhile, at the other church I sat next to a woman with a huge, hot pink Mohawk, and a couple of people arrived for the service carrying in pizza boxes! Lol! Heres the thing. I learn important stuff about God in both churches and Im glad I have the freedom to attend both. God loves all of those people: the pizza and Cheerios eaters, the pink Mohawk lady, and yes, even the lady wearing the Ive got crabs T-shirt. Hope to see them all next week.
