Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged” (Deuteronomy 31:8). • After two suicide bombers blew themselves up outside a church in Pakistan this past Sunday, leaving 85 dead and more than 140 wounded, pray for comfort, healing, and an end to the rising violence against Christians in this troubled part of the world. “My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior – from violent people you save me” (2 Samuel 22:3-4). • As the U.N. General Assembly gathers in New York this week, pray for fruitful conversations and God’s divine wisdom to guide the proceedings. “He will judge between many peoples and will settle disputes for strong nations far and wide.
