Praise for the Day June 14, 2014 Psalm 55: 22 Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved. “Why doesn’t God remove this (whatever ‘this’ is) from my life?” “How come I have such a disaster of a life when immoral, bad, lying, cheating, people have such a good life?” “How can martyrs still believe?” The ‘how come’ list is unending. Why, as a Christian, so we not lead a charmed, blessed life? Probably because God’s son, Jesus, didn’t either while he was on earth. He came as an example. He lost loved ones to death. He experienced physical and emotional hurt. He set the example when he was verbally attacked, threatened, rejected by friends and family, physically beaten and eventually lost his life. Lost his life. What a gift! He lost his life but found millions and billions and trillions of lives in the process.
