Praises elate you, and criticism crushes you “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves. (John 14:7-11 NKJV). Jesus says The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works. I see different leaders getting upset when others dont except their teachings, but when one does except they feel elated but crushed when one doesnt. This is what happens when one teaches obedients of doing, and not obedients to the faith. What then shall we say that Abraham our father has found according to the flesh? For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God. For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt. But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works: (Romans 4:1-6 NKJV). When you know The Lord has open your eyes to the scriptures concerning Him; you wont swing in either direction because youll know the words are not yours but His. Theyre not rejecting you because the words were never yours, but theyre rejecting the truth which is The Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord was never persuaded either way, He was altogether Lovely. He never had to retrace a step, or never had to retrace a word. He was perfection and beauty like fine flour the grain offering. ‘When anyone offers a grain offering to the LORD, his offering shall be of fine flour. And he shall pour oil on it, and put frankincense on it. He shall bring it to Aaron’s sons, the priests, one of whom shall take from it his handful of fine flour and oil with all the frankincense. And the priest shall burn it as a memorial on the altar, an offering made by fire, a sweet aroma to the LORD. (Leviticus 2:1-2 NKJV) What is an “altar” in today’s context? It is a place where you know that you have a close relationship with God. We have to have this kind of relationship with God, one full of “altars” that remind us of His love, goodness and faithfulness. Let’s not live the Christian life like Lot, saved by the skin of our teeth. Let’s walk closely with God as Abraham did, and be richly blessed in every area of our lives! The reason one gets so upset is because they are still teaching Moses the law which points you back to self therefore, pride comes in. Pride of position, and pride of life. “But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Certainly not! For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain.” (Galatians 2:17-21 NKJV). So lets rest and let The Lord work through us and for us. For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen. (Romans 11:36 NKJV). We must remember, it will be those who come against the word of God; yes, even believers sadly to say. They came against our Lord, and also Paul. So when the Jews went out of the synagogue, the Gentiles begged that these words might be preached to them the next Sabbath. Now when the congregation had broken up, many of the Jews and devout proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas, who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God. On the next Sabbath almost the whole city came together to hear the word of God. But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy; and contradicting and blaspheming, they opposed the things spoken by Paul. Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said, “It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles. (Acts 13:42-46 NKJV). What did Paul do? He just turned to the Gentiles and continued to preach the grace of God. One might say what was he preaching? Lets see in this next verse. Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins; and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses. Beware therefore, lest what has been spoken in the prophets come upon you: ‘Behold, you despisers, Marvel and perish! For I work a work in your days, A work which you will by no means believe, Though one were to declare it to you.’ ” (Acts 13:38-41 NKJV). They were law minded. You see Paul preached the word of God which is also the grace of God which is the person of Jesus Christ. I strongly suspect those who get upset at those who come against their teaching are probably teaching mixture. Some of Moses, and some of Christ. So child of God lets operate under the spirit only and preach Christ only. Lets not get our wisdom from the world and bring it into the body of Christ. I pray that we all grow to maturity. And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified. I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. (I Corinthians 2:1-8 NKJV). So dont let praises elate you, and criticism crush you. Because if your teaching the grace of God the words are not yours, so just rest and let the ARK unfold through you. God bless
