Pray According to Gods Will READ! Matt. 7:7 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened. As children of God, we can pray with confidence, always believing God will answer our prayers. Praying with authority is a matter of claiming that which has already been bought and paid for by Christ at Calvary. The first key is to have committed our lives to God before we start praying. When God knows we want His purpose accomplished more than what we request, He will trust us with His power. The second key is to know in our hearts that what we are praying for is according to God’s will, and is not based on some selfish desires we’ve justified by misusing Scripture. However, this authority does not give us license to make demands of the Lord. We are to approach the throne of grace boldly, but with a deep sense of humility. A humble person knows that he or she cannot tell God what to do. Rather than dictate commands, we should cry out in desperation for Him to intervene on our behalf. God answers our requests when they are in alignment with His plan. And we know He won’t act in a manner inconsistent with His character. God alone knows the perfect actions to take and the right time to do so. But He invites us to ask in faith—and to keep on asking: Matt. 7:7.
